Pick of the Month: August // Dream Office Spaces

All from Apartment Therapy / Home Office
This house hunting thing is going very slow and doing my head in! There are only a few houses available in our price range and our preferred location; and when I say a few I mean 4 houses, one of which is on a small island! But that does not stop me about planning dreaming about my future work space. And although my Mr and I will have to share a room to start with, I’m already picturing it in my head. I’m thinking loads of storage, subtle colours, homemade wall arts, a comfy chair and possibly a sofa with loads of cushions and a nice free standing lamp for some late night reading.

This new house of ours is slowly coming together room by room, and if it wouldn’t just be in my head, it would be a dream house.
Check this old post here for some children’s room inspiration.

33/52

It’s week 33 and also the last of our summer holiday in Italy! We enjoyed it ’till the last minute and made the most of it. Italy we miss you already.
This week you:
  • Loved running around your grandparents house. And you were amazed at all the space you had and the new things you discovered.
  • Finally tried ice cream and you sort of liked it, but preferred eating just the cone.
  • Learned to say ‘no’, but you say it in such a cute way that we laugh every time.
  • Played with the potty just for fun, but you did understand what it was for as you started making funny noises while seating on it.
  • Finally enjoyed playing on the beach, walking on the shore and swimming in the sea. We had so much fun together.
  • Had a ‘pizzella’ (small round pizza) and plums for a mid morning snack every day at the beach. And you loved it!

From last week loved Jessica’s face from Yellow Finch Design, so cheeky!

The Phone Photography Project // Part 4

And I finally made it to Day 32! I deliberately decided to wait for this last set of pictures to include some of the shots from our trip to Switzerland and then Southern Italy. This project has been awesome. It has been great to capture so many aspects of our summer and to learn to give a bit more thought when using my Iphone. And I loved looking at how other people interpreted the same subject and their way of taking pictures. And lots of phoneography tips have now become a habit for me…so glad my interest in photography is surfacing again.
I’m planning to print both text and pictures and use them in my soon to come ‘Hello Summer’ mini book or maybe a stand-alone booklet. So many ideas are flying into my head right now…hopefully September will help me decide.

Day 30: Summer Reading

“There is a temperate zone in the mind, between luxurious indolence and exacting work; and it is to this region, just between laziness and labor, that summer reading belongs.”
Henry Ward Beecher
Day 31: Green

“Front yards are boring. Backyards tell stories.”
James Stevenson
Day 32: Quintessential Summer Shots

32/52

This week 32 it’s our holiday week and we are loving it! But we are still waiting for dad to join us.
This week you:
  • Smiled with disbelief when you saw your grandparents at the airport.
  • Refused to touch the sand with your feet on our first trip to the beach. But it’s getting better.
  • Loved watching your uncle Dani making sand castles.
  • Went to bed way past your usual bedtime hour (11pm!)
  • But slept on average 3 hours in the afternoon.
  • Preferred eating cucumber rather than ice cream! Sometimes I wonder if you really are our child!
  • Discovered the salty water of the sea!
From last week’s portraits, I enjoyed Chloe’s feet from she rhymes with crazy, and her mama’s tip and trick for washing her hair!

31/52

Week 31 and our summer holiday is finally here! We made it through the last week before our trip and the wedding in Bern. And we had so much fun catching up with old and new friends.

This week you:

  • Tried to pull your eyelashes minutes before falling asleep in the evening. You have been doing this from some time, and now I know it’s the sign you are drifting off.
  • Enjoyed watching yourself in the mirror right after your bath. You made me wrap you in your bath towel, pick you up and dance in front the mirror. And you kept laughing like crazy!
  • Behaved like a champ on our solo trip to Switzerland!
  • Were the most beautiful at our friend’s wedding.
  • Used two packs of 64 wipes in three days…mainly to wipe yourself for fun.
  • Made everyone smile during the wedding ceremony as you kept wiping the sweat off your face like an old lady.
