30 Days of Lists // September 2013 // Lists 21-30

And so this project has reached to an end. It feels like this month has gone by too quickly and I haven’t really savoured the daily prompts as much as I would have liked. But so glad I managed to do this once again. It gives me a nice feeling flicking through the pages of the mini book I created for this challenge. And reading back each and every day’s list gives me a new perspective about the month that has just passed. Sometimes I feel like I don’t have time to slow down and think, to enjoy life and to look at it from the outside, but looking back at the lists gives me a sense of accomplishment, a proof of my existence, the sensation that  this September has been a good month after all!
So here go the last 10 lists:

30 Days of Lists // September 2013 // Lists 11-20

And here we are with the next 10 lists for this September. I feel like playing catch up everyday, as my little miss has discovered my yellow box where I keep all my stickers, stamps, washi, scraps, etc which I’m using for this month’s #30lists. And she is utterly obsessed with all of them. Having said so, I have to wait after she goes to bed in the evening to finish off each list and this is causing some delays in taking pictures, posting, etc. I’m planning to get her her own box, with her own supplies so she can play her own #30lists without disrupting mine.
Here are lists 11 to 20.

30 Days of Lists // September 2013 // Lists 1-10

After playing catch up for these first 10 lists, I’m now back on track and enjoying the daily prompts of this month’s 30 days of lists. After much debate on how to make my lists nicer (and not just simple bullet point lists), I went for a bit of everything, die cuts, stickers, some coloured notes, collages and whatever I felt it was appropriate for each specific list.  I also tried different ways of taking pictures for each list, but at the end fell in love with the natural light I can only manage to get outdoor. The flowers and grenery in the background is from our front garden, it’s still quite in bloom and love that extra bit of colour added to the picture.

Here is what my first 10 lists look like.

A list // September

I am…
making: lists over lists. for fun, for work, for grocery shopping, for things to do.
cooking: curries. getting a little obsessed with spices, vegetables and rice.
drinking: fresh ginger tea, with honey and lemon almost every night. A must for colds and sore throats.
reading: punk rock dad. and loving it.
wanting: to go somewhere warm.
looking: for the perfect autumn raincoat.
playing: in muddy puddles.
wasting: time worrying about little things.
sowing: winter bulbs for the winter.
wishing: for some change to happen soon.
enjoying: working only three days a week. and spending my two days off with my little girl.
waiting: for new winter TV series to start.
liking:  my desire to paint again.
wondering: if I’m doing things right.
loving: the me time during my lunch breaks.
hoping: that we will find a new home soon.
marvelling: at how much the little miss is growing.
needing: newwinter shoes for work.
smelling: the autumn rain on freshly cut grass.
wearing: socks and tights again.
following: Oana Befort and Golly Bard’s Drawing Room, and their amazing illustrations.
noticing: the green leaves turning yellow.
knowing: things happen for a reason.
thinking: it can only get better.
bookmarking: lots of potential winter projects.
opening: bags of walnuts, raisins and peanuts. Our favourite afternoon snack.
giggling: in the morning while still in bed, listening to our little miss blabbering to herself right after waking up.
feeling: rather positive and in a good mood.

On listing // 30 Days of Lists

After the wonderful experience I had in participating at 30 days of lists back in March this year, I didn’t have any hesitation when I received a pre-event registration email from Amy and Kam to sign up again this September.
I love making lists, I make a list for everything; it helps me to free up a bit of space in my brain and not to wake up at night afraid I will forget all the things I want have to do.
My favourite and most used bullet point is a simple black circle, but from time to time I like to experiment with something else, be it a star, a dash, an arrow, you name it.

My favourite paper used to be a simple coloured post-it note that I could stick anywhere and then throw away after each item was crossed off. But a few months ago I designed a number of small to-do-list notebooks which have now become my favourite place for listing tasks, grocery lists, etc. And I’m loving it. And I’m planning to keep them all stored in a box. As I got carried away with making notebooks, I listed some of them on my Etsy shop for fellow listers to buy. Please have a look here.
For this September’s round of 30 Days of Lists I decided to create a similar version of my March notebook (here), to keep everything consistent for this year.

Again I used an A6 eco seawhite sketchbook and embellished with a letterpressed front cover, some washi tape and die-cuts. Plus whatever will come to my mind as I go along this month’s challenges. And I’ve chosen the colour green again.

During the past edition of 30 lists I was publishing a list a day here on the blog. For this current edition, I will be combining the lists in 3 posts throughout the month, each with 10 lists. Daily lists will be published on Instagram (here to follow) with the hashtag #30lists and on flickr (hereto follow) under the 30daysoflistsgroup.
