A lot happened this week. We’ve been in Calabria, southern Italy visiting my parents and celebrating my birthday. We had such a great time and Little Miss O enjoyed very much spending time outdoor and playing with everyone in the family.
Wearing your backpack during a visit to the Scolacium archaeological park

This week you:

  • Spent a lot of time with your grandparents and aunties and uncles.
  • Went out for a stroll several times during the day and enjoyed the sunny and warm weather.
  • Leaned under every car parked outside your grandparents’ house to look for cats.
  • Kept waking up at 6am, despite the 1-hour time difference between Italy and the UK; meaning when we go back home you will be waking up at 5am?
  • Loved playing on the beach picking up pebbles and throwing them in the water and dipping your feet in the sea.
  • Tried ice cream and didn’t like it! But we are not really worried about this, we are sure it won’t be long until you will change your mind!
  • Spent a lot of time washing your hands in the bidet at your grandparents’ house…shame (or luck!) we don’t have one at home 🙂
  • Learned to read (sort of!). It’s so funny when we ask you to read something and you start blabbering like you are actually reading.
  • Said a few more words, like mamma and papa’, and x (thank you grandma!). We are making some progress, although your favourite word it still is ‘cacca’.
  • Decided to have a picnic in the middle of the promenade and made everyone laugh.

I’m playing catch up with this project again. We spent just over a week in southern Italy, visiting my parents. And before I knew it two sundays had gone by.
In love with your sunglasses
This week you:
  • Waved goodbye and sent kisses to papa before going to nursery in the morning.
  • Wore your first t-shirt after months of long sleeves and jumpers..
  • Insisted on having Parmesan for breakfast, and as a Parmesan lover I couldn’t say no!
  • Slept for two hours on the plane. Thank you baby girl for making our trip to Italy so easy.
  • Didn’t complain when your grandparents picked you up and gave you lots of hugs and kisses as soon as they saw you. That made them very happy.

We spent most of our weekend playing outside, enjoying the sun and warm-ish weather as much as we could. And that means I am late with this week post again!

Wearing papa’s woolly hat

This week you:

Had your first proper fall(s) with some minor bleeding. You fell against the tyre of your pram while running in M&S and cut your bottom lip. You fell in the garden on the gravel and bruised your left cheeck. You slipped on your mat and bumped your right cheek against the coffee table. All of this happened within two days…I think we are done for this year!

Had your first proper children menu @ Nandos: veggie strips, luso beans, chips and chocolate frozen yogurt.   Of course you didn’t eat it all (except for chips) and kept asking for mama’s sweetcorns.

Enjoyed playing in our friends’ garden on saturday afternoon. You had so much fun playing with the ball and riding the slide and making everyone laugh.

My favourite from last week are this close up portrait of Lily‘s blue eyes, pure magic, and Bo‘s oh so cute pigtails (I’m still waiting for my little Miss hair to grow a little more so I can make these).

15/52

It’s week 15 and this post is going live on Monday, ’cause we ran out of coffee over the weekend and I was too tired to publish it last night.

This week you:

  • Had fun using papa’s headphones to listen to music. You were so cute!
  • Laughed at yourself making faces in front of the mirror. You are becoming more funny everyday, and you know it…that’s what makes it even better.
  • Didn’t cry when I dropped you off at nursery on Friday (yeah!). Truth is, you got distracted by all the other kids crying, but that’s ok too.
  • Made us realise once more that you are a wonderful kid, and we feel very lucky to have you.
My favourite portrait from last week is little Audrey walking alongside her dad, so sweet.

It’s week 14 and I’m still enjoying with this weekly project. This week has been one of those rare weeks that seems to be lasting forever. I did spend more time with my Little Miss O, as I only worked 4 days and my mister was busy with some work; and this may be the reason for this. We did lots of things together, play dates, shopping, long breakfasts and a lot of playing. And it was fun and tiring, but I liked it.

This is you making fun of yourself in the mirror
This week you:

  • Turned 16 months. Wow, it feels yeaterday I was writing down a similar sentence!
  • Had a playdate with your friends on Monday and had lots of fun riding the slides, playing with the mirrors and climbing the soft ladder.
  • Loved giving eskimo kisses, especially to your dad.
  • Laughed a lot.
  • Learned to do the pig noise… sort of. You can now imitate the sound of 5 animals, the chicken, the monkey, the fish, the lion, and now the pig!
  • Ate an entire mini pot of Philadelphia with your fingers. I guess using the breadsticks that come with it was not as fun!
  • Cried when I dropped you off at nursery, but by Friday you cried a little less and played a little more.
  • Woke up at 6am on Saturday, and didn’t want go back to sleep. Let’s not make it a habit, please?
My favourite picture from last week’s portraits has to be the portrait of Sunny, from Sunny & Scout, hugging her mama’s pregnant belly; it just had my heart melt.
