23/52

We are almost half way through this project and I’m still loving every week. This week there has been a lot of playing in the garden thanks to the kind weather we have been having.
This is you running around the garden with mama’s watercolours and brush

This week you:
  • Turned 18 month old and for the first time since you were born it felt like time is really flying by. These past 6 months have gone so quickly and you have made so many progress in growing up…we had to wave goodbye to the baby phase, you are a toddler now!
  • Got your first scooter to celebrate your 18 month birthday. We were going to wait for you to turn 2, but then you tried your friend’s scooter and loved it, and we loved it too 🙂
  • Learned to do small puzzles by yourself. You got upset every time we tried to help you, but then you got frustrated if you were not able to put the pieces together…we can’t win!
  • Had a temperature again over the weekend, and we really don’t know what’s happening now. Is it because of teething? We’ll find out this week when we go to see the doctor.

Happy 18 month birthday baby girl! We have come a long way and we love you more and more.

From last week’s posts I’ve chosen these two beautiful pictures of Pebble and Rocky from Octavia and Vicky. What a joyful and relaxing feeling!

This week you:

  • Have been very good, for the first part of the week. You ate a lot, slept a lot, played a lot and laughed tons!
  • Had a temperature on Thursday evening and have been very grumpy, but didn’t loose your appetite or your sleep. And you got to spent the whole of Friday with mama.
  • Insisted on playing with mama’s make-up bag and pretended to put make up on everyone’s face. I’m sure I didn’t teach you that, but I guess your observational skills are something I have not taken enough into consideration.

My favourite from last week is the gorgeous smile of Lily from Sass and Spice riding the sling. It feels magic!

This project is still a joy to be part of. My posting time has changed slightly over the past couple of months, and I blame the weather and the clock change for it. We are finding ourselves spending more time outdoors during the weekend, although the English weather has not been totally on our side. And that means not really wanting to spend time in front of my laptop on Sunday morning. So here I am, posting on Tuesday morning because it was a Bank Holiday weekend this week and it was unexpectedly sunny and warm and we stayed outside as much as we could.

This week you:

  • Whispered ‘mamma’ and ‘papa’ in your sleep and it was so sweet to hear it.
  • Learned to go down the big slide by yourself.
  • Had a couple of troubled nights because of teething. And for the first time we had to go for a car ride to let you fall asleep.
  • Got excited as soon as you realised we were about to change the bed sheets. You know we let you play hide and seek with the duvet and make a hammock with the sheets for you to sling in.
  • Fell in love with your new chair. It’s still a bit high for you to be able to sit by yourself, so you learned to climb on it and stand up, turn and then sit down. But we are now thinking of hiding it from you as it looks dangerous.
  • You kept blabbering pretending to read almost everytime we asked you to.
  • You got some new toys and loved playing with them.
From last week’s posts I got hooked up by ten thousand stars dance photos by Sabrina Schellkes and her approach at documenting her journey through different themes each week. Love it!

Bath time
This week you:
  • Blabbered and blabbered and blabbered. And we loved listening to you.
  • Let me put your plastic bib on during meal times after months of messy clothes. And loved going around the house wearing it. Unfortunately it only lasted one day!
  • Replied ‘mamma’ with a cheeky laugh every time your dad asked you who you love the most. It seemed like you were doing it on purpose.
  • Tried on your new sandals and t-shirt and wouldn’t let me take them off despite the chilly temperatures.
  • Learned how to make the noise of a dog…finally.
And from last week portraits I’m loving Finnian and Ronan from Capturing Moments hiding in a ball pool, they must have had so much fun!

We have been adjusting to the english weather back again this week, and trying to make the most of the very few sunny spells. Summer we are still waiting for you!

This week you:

  • Turned 17 months. And again, four weeks have gone by super quickly, and before I know it you’ll turn 18 months!
  • Pointed at yourself, and laughed, every time we asked you where Olivia was.
  • Went back at nursery after a week away and were not impressed, but you survived brilliantly.
  • Started to repeat some of the words we say to you. You really are making progress!
  • You keep calling us both ‘baba’, but if we insist a little you call us ‘mama’ and ‘papa’.
  • Enjoyed playing in our front garden, weather permitting. Picking up and throwing pebbles is still is your favourite game.
  • Had a swollen cheek for a few days. And we wouldn’t have even noticed it if you hadn’t pointed at it so often with your little finger.

I’m loving the light on the portraits of Isabella, Harriet, Billy, Arlo and some chubby little cheeks @24 weeks from Life in our busy household, from last week posts.
